Good Riddance

So Van Jones resigned with final spew of blame. No surprise there, socialist and communist minded persons are not known for their understanding of personal responsibility. While I appreciate the role Van Jones played in tying the environmental movement to a socialist agenda, I am happy to see him resign. I also am happy that there is starting to be some anger of the whole czar thing in general. Having “special advisers” with “special authority” is out of line. The Curse of Ponce De Leon

How did we, as a nation, a society, get to the place we are? How did we allow the government to get so large, how did we give up so many freedoms, and why are so many of us doing so little about it? Not only are many peopel in support of a large government, but the overall culture is discouraging of those who oppose it. Certainly there are power seekers in Washington who are playing all the right games to gain power. And there are those who believe that socilaism and similar concepts are actually better, because they think that they, or at least a small group of experts know better how to run a society than the collective minds and choices of the individuals in the society itself. Why Libertarianism is Wrong: A Rebuttal

- The following was an interesting piece in opposition to libertarian thought/philosophy as a whole. I enjoy reading things like this because they often point out weaknesses in my own thinking that should be addressed. They also assist with building my case, as I am able to address counter arguments more effectively. This particular piece is well written, and hits on some major points. Some points made are true weaknesses in libertarian philosophy. Some points are inaccurate, at least with respect to my own take on libertarian thought. Admittedly there are some libertarians who may commit the very mistakes in thinking that the author references, but not all do, and that is important for any reader of this article to understand.
