How did we, as a nation, a society, get to the place we are? How did we allow the government to get so large, how did we give up so many freedoms, and why are so many of us doing so little about it? Not only are many peopel in support of a large government, but the overall culture is discouraging of those who oppose it. Certainly there are power seekers in Washington who are playing all the right games to gain power. And there are those who believe that socilaism and similar concepts are actually better, because they think that they, or at least a small group of experts know better how to run a society than the collective minds and choices of the individuals in the society itself. They think that it is too risky to leave a society in the hands of the people. Read the rest of this entry »
