Pirates are Capturing more than Captains
They are capturing our attention. The latest fuss about the somalian pirates is yet another smoke screen. The situation can be taken care of as soon as it is seen fit to release the situation from the public eye. Currently, there are 4 pirates in a life boat holding one innocent man hostage. Nearby, there is a fully equipped US Navy destroyer. A small insertion team of Navy Seals or Frogmen could handle the situation without loss of innocent life in under 2 hours. Yet this is dragging on in the media. It is almost certainly (at least in my mind) a media circus that is either a distraction from something else or a P.R. move by the powers that be, or both. This situation hardly bears noting, although it would be wise to watch how it is handled, hopefully it is not being used as a power grab for our government or a release of power to international jurisdiction. I would not be suprised at either one. At best, this is a horrible and incompetent handling of the situation, at worst it is a conspiracy to cover other things up or the making of a molehill into a mountain for the purpose of moving forward a certain agenda. Sorry if I sound like a conspiracy theorist on this one, I just find the whole situation a little too ridiculous.
