Good Riddance
So Van Jones resigned with final spew of blame. No surprise there, socialist and communist minded persons are not known for their understanding of personal responsibility. While I appreciate the role Van Jones played in tying the environmental movement to a socialist agenda, I am happy to see him resign. I also am happy that there is starting to be some anger of the whole czar thing in general. Having “special advisers” with “special authority” is out of line. Obama did not invent the whole czar thing, but like many of his horrid policies, he did accelerate it.
Van Jones was, at best, clearly and authoritarian, one who supports the power of the state and believes that government knows best. His communist philosophical background was clear and recent. Being a communist does not make him a bad person, I am not suggesting some sort of macarthyism here, but it is clearly not in step with the concept of freedom and the power of the individual. Whatever you believe about communism and its failed experiments in Russia, Cuba, and many other places, it is in-arguably incompatible with the U.S. Constitution, and therefore it cannot be implemented without due and proper change.
We are already far outside of Constitutional bounds, and the validity of the authority of the government is faltering. You cannot ignore the very thing that grants authority and still expect to retain that authority. The State must reign themselves in and make the needed changes before the people they govern recognize that their claims of authority are false if they are operating outside of the foundational documents of our government. Our entire legal and governmental system depends on that document, it is high time it was elevated to the proper place of honor and respect in our society. If you do not like what is in it, then there is a process by which the document can be changed. That process has been followed before with great success. In recent years, it has simply been ignored and bypassed with legal speak and ignorance.
I am happy that the caustic Van Jones has been removed, and I hope that he is not replaced. We need to change how things are being done, and consolidation of power is not acceptable.
